Our Mission

In late 5768 (2008), HaGaon Rabbi Avraham Genichovsky zt"l approached the leaders of the Torah world — Maran Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman zt"l, Maran the Mashgiach HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Dan Segal shlit"a, and the Rosh Yeshiva of Tshebin, Maran HaGaon Rabbi Yosef Moshe Schneerson shlit"a — asking them to take an active role in founding a non-profit organization devoted to building taharah among the Jewish people, under the guidance of the leading rabbanim of the generation, in a responsible manner that provides a precise, high-quality answer to real needs on the ground.

In those days the foundation was laid for an endeavor unmatched in both scope and quality. Today, several years after the founding of Merkaz HaTahara, the organization runs extensive, unprecedented activity across three departments: mikveh construction and renovation, mikveh supervision, and the balaniyot association. The rabbanim of Merkaz HaTahara placed their trust in the director, Rabbi Mordechai Krimlovsky shlit"a, who has devoted many years to expanding taharah in Israel. The organization is managed with a professional, modern organizational approach using the most advanced management tools.

Merkaz HaTahara has thus become a model of an organization managed to the highest standard with innovative technological tools, standing under the close supervision of the rabbanim in every component of its work.

Merkaz HaTahara operates with careful judgment guided by the rabbanim of the organization on a regular, daily basis. Priorities in selecting construction and renovation projects are determined by genuine needs on the ground — never by considerations of publicity, profit, or convenience. The management and field teams stand ready to answer every call, whether from a rav or from any man or woman of Israel. All resources are directed toward one supreme goal: to renew and expand taharah in Israel — the foundation of the Jewish nation in its purity — in a way that invites every Jewish home to restore a spirit of taharah, with joy, beauty of mitzvah, and breadth of heart and mind.
